8th International Conference on “Energy and Climate Change”
The 8th International Conference on “Energy and Climate Change” will take place at the premises of KEPA - the Energy Policy and Development Centre (see map) an the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – NKUA campus (Kaisariani) on 7-9 October 2015, in Athens, Greece and is set under the auspices of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).
This year the Conference aims to contribute in increasing the world momentum for developing and implementing converging deep decarbonization pathways in the content of the forthcoming COP 21 in Paris late this December 2015.
Based on the existing state of climate change policies of the BSEC countries, the Conference aims to bring together scientists, policy and decision makers and market stakeholders and facilitate the knowledge transfer on the critical issues related with the emerging Framework for Various Approaches and its associated mechanisms.
The Conference is divided into three (3) main parts. The first is devoted to the policy dialogue and apart from distinguished scientists, high level officials from the Permanent International Secretariat, the Business Council and the Parliamentary Assembly of BSEC will be invited to contribute. In addition national representatives members of the relevant BSEC Working Groups will be also invited to present their policies and activities related to Climate Change, as well. The second is devoted to peer – viewed presentations and discussions, as in all previous years. Finally the third is shaped as a “Brokerage session” that will bring together scientists, policy makers and market stakeholders and facilitate them to present their activities (projects and programs), discuss about funding opportunities, especially in the context of Horizon 2020 calls and finally to increase the cross-interaction on innovative ideas and cooperation on common importance topics.
