The objective of the RegioStars Awards is to identify good practices in regional development and to highlight original and innovative projects which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions.

Launch of the 2015 RegioStars Awards

2-day training on EU instruments available for funding of research, innovation and competitiveness as well as on the legal issues ensuring compliance with EU rules. The training will be held in Brussels on February 11 & 12, 2015. Funding of research, development and innovation (R&D&I) is one of the key objectives of the programming period 2014-20. All Member States are encouraged by the European Commission to invest in this sector. Additionally, various new funding instruments are being introduced.

OrangeGrove is the international center for startups initiated by the Netherlands Embassy in Athens, offering mentoring and coaching, networking opportunities, an educational program, accounting and legal support and office facilities in the center of Athens.

An economic heavyweight and the most densely used maritime and coastal space in Europe, the North Sea holds the highest potential in Europe for the development of offshore wind energy. Cooperation at sea-basin level has an essential role to play in reaching this potential: to reduce regulatory uncertainty, address the increasing risks of conflicts over space use with other sectors such as fisheries or transport, and create the necessary strategic vision for the development of energy interconnections.

The European Commission has released a guidebook for policy makers, stakeholders and managing authorities, especially at regional level, who want to help small and medium-sized enterprises seize international market opportunities, both in the EU and further afield, supported by EU Structural Funds.

The Ministry for Development and Competiveness offers the opportunity to participate in an Experience Sharing Workshop of Israeli and Greek technology startup companies. The workshop will be led by the experienced Israeli mentors of Start-Up Nation Central. This meeting will give its participants an opportunity to exchange, in small group, ideas, experiences and lessons learned relating to the life-cycle of new innovative-technology companies within competitive ecosystem. For the sixth time, the conference invites researchers and entrepreneurs from North Rhine-Westphalia and regions in Europe to find new European research and innovation (R&I) partners for Horizon 2020 projects.
