The Economist’s Innovation Forum will make its debut in Chicago, on March 26th, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel, to discuss how exponential technologies, frugal engineering and radical business models are disrupting top industries. The event will bring together Fortune 500 CEOs, policymakers and entrepreneurs who are continuously disrupting the status-quo.

The European Commission has released a guidebook for policy makers, stakeholders and managing authorities, especially at regional level, who want to help small and medium-sized enterprises seize international market opportunities, both in the EU and further afield, supported by EU Structural Funds.

Cooperation project to develop and/or promote a European cultural route around luxury goods (pilot phase)

The objective of the present call is to support the development and promotion of one (new) European Route around one high-end / luxury product, to test the possibility of developing synergies between the tourism and the high-end industries at European level.


The ‘Week of Innovative Regions in Europe’ (WiRE2014) will take place this year in Athens, in June 12-13 under the auspices of the Greek EU Presidency. Since 2010, the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe (WIRE) Conference Series serves as a key instrument in setting the European Regional Agenda and provides the most significant forum for policy dialogue on Regional Strategies, Innovation and Growth.


The overall objective of the RInES Conference which will be held in Thessaloniki, at the Concert Hall between May 29 and 30, 2014 is to highlight the important role of the International Cooperation/INCO for the EU by reinforcing the collaboration with the European Neighbourhood/ENP and Black Sea region countries within the framework of the research and innovation, exploiting its potential as an integral part of a comprehensive package of external action.

On Tuesday, 15 April 2014, the European Commission Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry will host a seminar in Athens, Divani Caravel Hotel, on the issue of cross-border credit and claims management within the EU.

SMEs often find it too daunting, complicated or expensive (consulting fees, legal counsel, document translation, etc.), to pursue legal action when needed, against companies or individuals in other Member States. They are also afraid they will not get paid.

“Industrial Technologies 2014 - Smart Growth through Research and Innovation” conference is organised within the Greek Presidency of the European Council, in Athens on April 9-11th 2014, at Athens Megaron Conference Hall. The event is under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Research & Technology (GSRT) and is supported by The European Commission Directorate for Research and Innovation.

EU SME Centre expert will join a workshop organised by Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and International Business Association SEVE on January 10th 2014 in Thessaloniki, providing Greek SMEs current information on the Chinese market.

The 2nd Innovation Convention will take place on 10 and 11 March 2014 in Brussels, Belgium.

The first edition was described by a leading technology website as “a creative collusion of some of the world’s brightest people from across all sectors involved in research, innovation and science”.

This second edition will be even bigger and better, with over 2000 participants.
